We don't often think about it, the skin under our hair. No one can blame you, it's not front and center in your smartphone selfies, you don't see it when you as you walk naked past the mirror, or lather it with yummy skincare after a hot bath. But it's there, and it wants some attention.
I don't think about my scalp all that often either. But the other day it was feeling... different. The skin at the base of my neck was dry and started to itch during my workout. And the rest of my scalp felt strange, like the feeling you get when you have a ponytail in for a long time and then take it out, but there was no ponytail involved. I needed a scalp refresher and fast.
Here at Good Medicine Beauty Lab, we love a multifunctional product, and that's certainly what Ashes Reincarnation Cleansing Grains is. The best thing about it is that these magical cleansing grains are intended to be used on your face, body, and hair. No need for multiple products and unnecessary wasted packaging.
I can not tell you how amazing my scalp feels after using Ashes as a scalp treatment. The itchiness and tightness is gone and my hair feels light and clean. I would like to apologize to my scalp for not doing this sooner.
Here is how to do your own scalp treatment at home, keeping in mind that we encourage intuitive self care. So if you feel like you want to do it a little differently, then please consider this routine as a guideline.
- Start with Wild Child Hair Rehab Oil while hair is still dry. Apply it to the ends and brush your hair to distribute evenly.
- Let sit for 20 minutes, wrapped in a towel (warm from the dryer).
- Wet your hair.
- Sprinkle some Ashes on your regular shampoo and wash normally.
- If your scalp is in need of extra TLC like mine was, you can also cleanse the areas that need more attention with straight Ashes. Sprinkle some Ashes in your hand and add a few drops of water until it starts to bubble. Use your finger to mix it into a paste and apply to problem area.
- Rinse.
- Feel the clean!
