I'm the mom of a thirteen-year-old boy. Several months ago, I sat silently and supportively watching him as he chatted with his friend at the kitchen counter. Do I say something? I don't want him to feel self-conscious. I remember how I felt having acne as a teenager (and let's face it, as an adult at times). It's no fun. But I wanted to help my cute boy. Up until a couple months ago his little baby face was blemish free. Recently though he had passed me up in height and his complexion was, err, maturing as well.
For us, medication was obviously out of the question, so I started looking for a natural solution. Acne is caused by so many things, including nutrition. Without going too far into detail, let's just say this kid loves Doritos and the spicy chicken sandwiches they serve at his jr. high school. I knew we could improve his diet but I also knew he wasn't about to change all his habits completely.
After I pulled it together, and his friend went home, I got up the guts to address the situation. He was open to improving his diet to some extent, drinking more water, and taking supplements, but let's not be ridiculous about cutting out the chips mom.
Luckily for us, at this same time the women at the lab were busy developing Electric Sky Universal Elixir, which turned out to be our savior. Before he started using it, he had this strange and constant redness under his nose. I tried all sorts of things to get rid of it. But within a few days of starting Electric Sky it was totally cleared up. Okay, now we're talking.
At the same time he started being more thoughtful about his diet, actually putting more vegetables in his mouth, increasing his water intake, taking a multivitamin and fish oil. Still, Doritos.
Then we introduced Sand into his routine and that's when things got really good. Now he was gently exfoliating and cleansing his skin with Sand Red Desert Mineral Polish and then nourishing and healing it with Electric Sky. I didn't want to overwhelm him with too many products and a complicated routine, se we kept it simple.
Sand helped by:
- Softening and unclogging his pores
- Getting rid of dead skin cells and acne-causing bacteria
- Introducing healing minerals to his skin
- Reducing inflammation and redness
- Moisturizing and brightening his complexion
Honestly, as a mom of two teenagers (I have a girl too), this was such a relief. I have enough to worry about.
Electric Sky helped by:
- Getting rid of the bacteria, fungus (which is what I suspect the redness under his nose was), and microbes
- Evening out his skin tone
- Of course, combating his acne and inflammation
So if you're like me, and you want to spare your kids the annoyance, and maybe even the trauma, of teenage acne, there are several things you can do to help. But the biggest ones for us were these two incredible products. And the best part is that I can feel really good about my kids putting them on their bodies. I don't have to wonder about safety and ingredients, like so many other acne "solutions." And even better than being safe, I know my kids and their skin are actually being nourished.
