Infused Water Recipes: Power-punch your hydration!

Staying well hydrated can be tough. We talk a lot about how incredibly important it is to your health, energy level and certainly to the vitality and elasticity of your skin. But if your like me, meeting your daily water quota can often feel difficult and well – a little boring. Luckily for both of us, we have a few INFUSED WATER RECIPES that will spice things up and make your taste buds dance with delight.

It was so fun making these, and incorporating these simple ingredients will take your water drinking to a whole new level. If not, just substitute the water for vodka (mostly kidding about this), and you will forget that you didn't quite make your water goals anyway. Win-win, right? ;)


Watermelon Basil Infusion

What you need:

  • 1 cup watermelon, cubed or balled (makes it a little prettier)
  • 2 to 3 sprigs fresh basil
  • Fresh water

HEALTH TIP: The watermelon in this yummy infusion is known to help flush toxins from the body and give the liver a boost. Basil is considered to be mood boosting, stimulating, soothing and promotes clarity.

How to infuse:

  1. Add watermelon and basil to a liter-size jar or bottle.
  2. Fill with fresh water, cover and either leave on counter or chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before enjoying

Spiced Pear Infusion

What you need:

  • 1 freshly sliced pear
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp. fresh grated ginger
  • Fresh water

HEALTH TIP: Pears contain antioxidants and Vitamin C, which help fight against free radicals, and boost your immune system. Health experts say that cinnamon is excellent for regulating blood sugar and improving alertness and concentration. Ginger has a ton of health benefits and is incredible to relieve nausea. It's widely used as an anti-inflammatory and is a powerful antioxidant.

How to infuse:

  1. Add your cinnamon sticks, ginger, and pear into pitcher.
  2. Fill pitcher with fresh water, let mixture sit for 1 hour. Then you can either leave on counter, or chill in your refrigerator

Blackberry Mint Infusion

What you need:

  • Fresh blackberries
  • A few sprigs of fresh mint
  • Fresh water

HEALTH TIP: Mint is calming to an upset stomach and aids with proper indigestion. Blackberries are definitely high in antioxidants, help to strengthen the immune system and are even good for managing your weight.

How to Infuse:

  1. Add 2-3 handfuls of blackberries to a pitcher. Mash or leave whole.
  2. Rub the mint with hands and fingers and drop into pitcher.
  3. Add fresh water, and let sit on counter for an hour and the either leave on counter or put in refrigerator to chill.

One last thing, if you want to spice it up even more, you could try substituting the fresh water for a sparkling mineral water. Enjoy!
